Fantasy Premier League advice: The 11 best players to sign in Gameweek 12 for your FPL team
With three new managers set to take charge of their clubs for the first time this weekend, the game has taken on a new layer of unpredictability.
The Premier League is back this weekend, and a lot has changed since the last round of games before the international break.
Dean Smith was fired by Aston Villa and replaced by Steven Gerrard, who then went on to become Norwich City’s new manager after Daniel Farke was fired.
Despite only joining Spurs on November 2nd, Antonio Conte is the 17th longest-serving manager in the Premier League.
It’s anyone’s guess how much of an impact this managerial change will have in terms of Fantasy Premier League.
Will Gerrard be able to unlock Emi Buendia’s creative potential at Villa Park? Could Teemu Pukki turn back the clock and become everyone’s go-to budget striker? Will Howe’s Callum Wilson x Ryan Fraser double-act be resurrected at St James’ Park?
It’s too early to say how the new managers will fare in their new roles, but one thing is certain: the incomings and outgoings in Premier League dugouts add an unpredictable element to FPL.
Gameweek 11 had its share of exciting matches, but it was a largely disappointing weekend for FPL managers, as evidenced by the average points score of 42. My team scored 47 points, with Aaron Ramsdale, Reece James, Tino Livramento, Mo Salah, and Wilfried Zaha all contributing.
The lack of goals from highly-owned forwards, which seems to have been a recurring theme this season, was a major factor in many managers’ struggles.
Only five forwards scored points, and none of them are owned by more than 5% of managers – and the scarcity of standout attacking options, compared to the abundance of high-scoring defenders, is why we pushed for a five-man defense last week.
With that in mind, we’ve decided to go with a 5-3-2 system that costs £78.7 million this weekend.
