MANCHESTER CITY rival Phil Foden has echoed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s claims that Mason Greenwood is the best finisher he has seen.
The United boss suggested the 18-year-old is the most prolific striker he has worked with after he bagged his 15th goal of the season against Bournemouth.
Greenwood is just one of the top English talents emerging on the big stage following similar impacts made by Foden, Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Chelsea ace Mason Mount.
And despite Foden mixing it with the world’s best, including Man City’s 254-goal record scorer Sergio Aguero, he specifically singled out his Manchester United counterpart as the best finisher.
Speaking to Premier League Productions, Foden said: “Mason Greenwood is the best I’ve seen finishing wise.
“He’s both-footed in and around the box. He’s always going to score.
“It’s just the right type of shot — he just knows when to finesse or lace it. The keeper’s never stable or set.”
When asked on how he compares to Aguero, Foden responded: “High up finishing wise.
“For his age, he’s unbelievable. I don’t know how he does it, to be honest.”
Aguero has bagged 16 Premier League goals this season compared to Greenwood’s eight but the Argentinean has started 11 more games.

But when it comes to hitting the target, Greenwood comes out on top.
He has a better shot accuracy, with 64 per cent compared to 51 per cent hitting the target.
And he has a better shot conversion rate, with 32 per cent of his efforts going in, compared to 29.6 per cent for Aguero.
Foden has also been tipped to rise to the very top after a string of hugely impressive performances under Pep Guardiola.
He has featured six times since football returned from lockdown and is expected to play a big role for City next season.
The 20-year-old also praised Chelsea duo Callum Hudson-Odoi and Reece James as those who will have a big future in the Prem.
Foden added: “(Callum’s) rapid. I’ve played with him before.
“He’s a talented player and he’s quick off the mark. He uses it well.
“Callum is very good at dribbling, to be honest. One v ones, out wide in those areas, he’s unbelievable.
“I like Reece James for physical. I think he’s powerful.
“When I’ve seen him play he’s done really well. He can defend and go forward, which I like to see. He’s so strong.”
