Tyson Fury was quick to shut down a fan who began to sing the ’10 German bombers’ chant at his pre-fight press conference on Wednesday.
The self-styled Gypsy King is fighting German Tom Schwarz on Saturday night, and one fan in the audience began to sing the song controversially adopted by sections of England football fans at away matches.
Fury was in no mood to let the fan, who was referencing World War II, continue and he quickly told him to ‘shut your mouth or I’ll smack it in’.
Fury’s opponent Schwarz, who was standing alongside the Brit on stage, appeared to take it well, and began to laugh at the interjection.
The awkward moment occurred before the start of Fury’s press conference in Las Vegas, when he and Schwarz were holding court on stage.
While waiting for the rest of his team to arrive, Fury was in high spirits and began to joke with the crowd, asking if anyone had any karaoke requests.
While opponent Schwarz was keen to hear mellow pop tune I’m Yours by Jason Mraz, one member of the audience wanted something altogether more tasteless.
The mood was quickly lightened again by Fury, who went on to sing Rag’n’Bone Man’s hit single Human.
Fury was dressed in a small-checked suit of many colours, each square picturing bare-knuckle champions over more than a century of the traveller history.
He and Schwarz take to the ring at the MGM Grand on Saturday night, with the Brit looking to keep hold of his unbeaten record.
