“I Hope He Gets Cut,” Stephen A Smith says of Kyrie Irving.

Because Kyrie Irving has shown no signs of returning to the Brooklyn Nets, ESPN’s Stephen A Smith believes it’s time for him to leave the city.

Stephen A. said on Wednesday’s edition of First Take that he felt “sad” for Nets forward Kevin Durant, who has taken on a much larger role on the team in Kyrie’s absence.

In 2019, he claimed that KD made the “wrong decision by moving to Brooklyn,” but he soon went off on Kyrie again.

Kyrie “betrayed” KD, according to Stephen A, by not doing everything he could to return to the court.

He thinks Kyrie has proven he can’t be trusted and hopes he’ll be cut.

“Kyrie Irving flatly betrayed you!”

“You were left hanging,” Stephen A said.

“And while you’re up there, they’re cheering for Steph Curry in Brooklyn (last night)… you’ve got Kyrie Irving, who is a show-stopper – a superstar talent… but can’t be trusted.”

Kyrie Irving should be cut…”

Finally, Stephen A chastised the Nets for not having a culture at the Barclays Center.

Kevin Durant has led the Nets to a 10-5 record by averaging nearly 29 points per game.

However, their offense remains in the middle of the pack, with no player averaging more than 20 points per game.

If Kyrie Irving agreed to return to the Nets, they would have the most wins in the Eastern Conference right now.

As things stand, the Nets are unlikely to see Kyrie again for the remainder of the season.

His time with the Nets could be coming to an end this year or next.

Stephen A Smith may have a point here.
