Kylian Mbappe has hit back at reports his agents have made demands to Paris Saint-Germain over his future by jokingly insisting he wants to play in goal.
The France striker has been linked with a move away from Parc des Princes after hinting he may take up a ‘new project’ in the near future.
Twitter user Transfer Checker suggested that Mbappe’s agent had listed three demands to the French champions if he is to stay at his current club.
They tweeted to their 93,000 followers: ‘Kylian Mbappe’s representatives have sent a list of demands to PSG’s hierarchy. They include: – He must be guaranteed to play up front rather than out wide – He must take all penalties when he’s playing – He must own a far greater % of his image rights if he remains at the club.’
Mbappe took offence to the speculative tweet and jokingly said they missed out on another demand… that he must play as a goalkeeper.
He wrote: ‘Sorry you forgot something, Kylian Mbappé want to play goalkeeper. FAKE NEWS.’
His tweet came after he scored the 100th goal of his career in just his 180th game for club and country.
Mbappe opened the scoring for France as the world champions defeated minnows Andorra 4-0 in their latest Euro 2020 qualifier.
Wissam Ben Yedder, Florian Thauvin and Kurt Zouma all got on the scoresheet after Mbappe’s early goal.
Mbappe has reassured PSG fans that he’s staying for at least another season despite there being widespread speculation over his future.
Speaking to the media while on France duty this week, he said: ‘Now is not the time to talk about a move to Real Madrid.
‘This is something that I am asked about a lot, but I have said that I will be at PSG next season.
‘You (the media) always ask this question, but now is not the time.’
