Look at this: The worst turnover of the season came from a CFB quarterback.

Iowa State had a chance to get into field goal range and score before halftime with the ball on Oklahoma’s 40-yard line and 27 seconds left.

However, instead of a game-winning score for the Cyclones, Brock Purdy and his Iowa State team faced disaster.

Purdy had his eyes locked downfield as he rolled to his left to escape pressure.

Sooners defensive back Key Lawrence streaked toward the senior quarterback at the last second.

Purdy was absolutely cracked at the line of scrimmage after pump faking the ball and attempting to tuck it before the hit.

The ball popped out into the backfield, where defensive lineman Jalen Redmond scooped it up and ran it in for the score.

The Sooners took a 14-7 lead into halftime as a result of this embarrassing blunder.

Check out the following scene from the play:

Brock Purdy’s senior season has been a struggle, and this play is indicative of that.

In comparison to his outstanding sophomore and junior seasons with the Cyclones, 2021 hasn’t quite lived up to expectations.

He threw for 3,982 yards, 27 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in 2019.

With one game remaining, he has 2,441 yards, 15 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

In the second half, Iowa State will try to mount a comeback and defeat the No. 1 team.

There are 13 Sooners in total.
