After defeating Texas State on Saturday, Coastal Carolina celebrated by destroying something else: pizza.

But this wasn’t just any pizza party.

Several players competed in a pizza eating contest against world champion competitive eater Joey Chestnut.

You really have to see it to believe it.

Despite their best efforts, Chestnut triumphed and demonstrated some of the skills that have earned him the title of nine-time Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating champion.

Coastal Carolina was as hungry for pizza as it was for a win after losing to Georgia State 42-40 last week without star quarterback Grayson McCall.

For the Chanticleers, McCall came back with a bang.

In a 35-21 victory, the sophomore quarterback threw for 319 yards and five touchdowns on 22-28 passes.

On Saturday afternoon on ESPN(plus), Coastal Carolina closes out the regular season with a road game against the South Alabama Jaguars.

CCU has a 9-2 record this season.

The Chanticleers started off 6-0 before losing two games in four weeks to Appalachian State and Georgia State, giving them back-to-back seasons with at least ten victories.
