MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly considering a shock summer swoop for Idrissa Gueye.
The 31-year-old joined Paris Saint-Germain from Everton in a deal worth £29million last summer.
Accordng to Le10 Sport, United are preparing to make a move for the Senegalese star.
But the Red Devils are yet to make a concrete offer for the experienced midfielder.
With Gueye set to turn 31 in September, he will not be viewed as a long-term option.
But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is determined to add another defensive midfielder to his team.
The 30-year-old has made two assists and scored one goal in 20 Ligue 1 games this season.
Gueye is under contract with French giants PSG until 2023, but last month he was quizzed about possibly leaving the club.
He said: “In the world of football, we are never sure of anything but I am often in contact with Leonardo, the club, and there has never been the question of a departure or transfer in our discussions.
“There is enough respect between us to be able to say things if there was something to be said. Everything that is said today is purely fake news.”
Wolves have also been linked to Gueye as a replacement for Spurs target Ruben Neves.
