Paris Saint-Germain centre back Marquinhos is ‘set for a big-money move to Juventus if a deal to take Matthijs de Ligt to the French capital is completed’.
PSG would reportedly be willing to let the 25-year-old leave this summer if a new centre back is signed in Ajax’s De Ligt, and they would likely recoup around £53m for the player.
That fee, though, is still nowhere near the £71m outlay on De Ligt, whose agent Mino Raiola is said to be in Paris to complete his move from Ajax to PSG.
Sport Mediaset report that De Ligt’s move would open the door for Marquinhos to head to Italy, where he would be ideal for their new-look side next season.
The Brazilian defender is vastly experienced despite his age, and he played 44 times in all competitions for PSG last season, scoring four goals in the process.
De Ligt’s move, meanwhile, is set to be one of the biggest of the summer window, following his breakthrough season in the Dutch Eredivisie.
