Matt Nagy Makes a Brutally Honest Acknowledgement About His Losing Streak

For the Chicago Bears, the last few weeks haven’t exactly been sunshine and rainbows.

The team from the NFC North has dropped four consecutive games and is now near the bottom of the conference standings.

The Bears have lost games to the Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and San Francisco 49ers during their current losing streak.

The Bears’ most recent loss came in Week 9 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, before they went on bye this past weekend.

Matt Nagy, the Bears’ head coach, has been looking for answers to end his team’s current losing streak, but he recognizes that it will take a team effort to turn things around.

He put it succinctly: everyone is to blame for Chicago’s current losing streak.

Nagy told Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times, “It’s no one’s fault except everyone’s.”

Justin Fields, the Bears’ rookie quarterback, is one of the few bright spots in the team’s current gloom.

In each of his last two starts, the 2021 first-round pick, whom Chicago acquired through a trade, racked up more than 275 total yards.

Every game, he appears to be displaying more and more signs of being an NFL franchise quarterback.

The Bears, however, are stuck in a rut for now.

This season, Chicago’s offense is tied for 30th in the league in terms of yards per game (280.7) and points per game (16.7).

The Bears will face a huge challenge in the next four weeks, with games against the Baltimore Ravens, Arizona Cardinals, and Packers. Nagy will undoubtedly have used the bye week to make some crucial adjustments, but it’s unclear how much Chicago will be able to turn things around in its final eight games.

If Nagy is able to rally his team to a better second half, only time will tell.
