On Saturday, Kirk Herbstreit Debuts Michigan State’s ‘X-Factor’

For Saturday’s massive Michigan State-Ohio State game, ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit will have one of the best seats in the house.

Despite the fact that the Buckeyes are heavy favorites in the game, he doesn’t rule out the Spartans.

In a recent interview, Herbstreit stated that the MSU defense’s ability to stop Ohio State’s high-powered offense is “never say never.”

However, he believes the defense will be the “X-Factor” in defeating the Buckeyes.

The Spartans’ “X-Factor,” according to Herbstreit, will be getting to Buckeyes quarterback CJ Stroud.

He noted that while Michigan State has done a good job of rushing the passer, their secondary has struggled to match up with Ohio State’s receivers.

Ball possession, according to Herbstreit, will be the key to Michigan State’s victory.

He believes the Spartans can pull off the upset if they can keep Ohio State off the field with long drives.

For a regular-season matchup, the stakes couldn’t be any higher.

Both teams have one loss on the season and will be out of the College Football Playoff race if they suffer another.

Ohio State has won five straight games against Michigan State.

Since 2017, the Buckeyes have outscored the Spartans 160-31 in the last four meetings.

However, the 2021 season has been odd.

Is it possible for Michigan State to pull off a victory over Ohio State?

At 12 p.m., the game will begin.

Ohio State is a 19-point home favorite and will be broadcast on FOX at 7:00 p.m. (EST).
