Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford has withdrawn from the game against Michigan State.

It will be an unfortunate way to end Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford’s Nittany Lions career if this Saturday’s game against Rutgers is the final time he plays at Beaver Stadium.

Clifford was last seen leaving the field a few moments ago.

There isn’t much information about his whereabouts right now, but it was clear that he was on his way to the locker room.

Clifford completed two passes for a total of 23 yards before leaving the game early.

Christian Veilleux is expected to take over at quarterback for the Nittany Lions for the time being.

There were a lot of questions about Penn State’s quarterback situation before this afternoon’s game started.

Clifford was named the starting quarterback for Penn State’s game against Rutgers on Saturday, but he didn’t warm up with the first-team offense.

Rather, Veilleux and Mason Stahl received pregame reps.

Clifford had 2,576 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, and six interceptions entering this weekend’s game.

Sadly, he has been plagued by injuries all season.

Later this afternoon, Penn State is expected to provide an update on Clifford.

For the time being, it’s unclear what prompted him to leave the game.

Sean Clifford, the quarterback for Penn State, has left the game against Michigan State.
