Declan Rice is reportedly being lined up by Frank Lampard as Chelsea’s last business of the summer.
The Blues have had a remarkable transfer window so far, completing deals for seven new stars, including Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell and Kai Havertz.
They have also brought in Thiago Silva on a free transfer as well as Malang Sarr and Xavier Mbuyamba.
A goalkeeper is their top priority, with negotiations ongoing to bring Edouard Mendy in from Rennes for around £30million.
But even after that they plan to test West Ham’s resolve over Declan Rice, with the Chelsea academy graduate thought to be a good option to play at centre-back.
First of all, the new goalkeeper. But after completing the signing of Edouard #Mendy, Declan Rice will be the last target for #Chelsea. He is still in the list of Lampard to close a fantastic transfer window. @SkySport #CFC #Transfers https://t.co/gawhIb1rRM

Angelo Mangiante, a Sky Sports transfer expert, claims Rice will be Chelsea’s ‘last target’ after a deal is completed for a new goalkeeper.
Rice played alongside Mason Mount for England in their 0-0 draw with Denmark on Tuesday; the lifelong pals could be seeing much more of each other in the near future.
