Charles Barkley Makes a Brutally Honest Acknowledgement About Scottie Pippen

Scottie Pippen, a former Chicago Bulls great, has made headlines in recent weeks for comments he made about his legendary teammate Michael Jordan.

While promoting his new book, Unguarded, Pippen has made a number of controversial statements, including continuing to criticize the Jordan-centric Last Dance documentary, declaring himself a better teammate than Jordan, and even attempting to downplay Jordan’s famous “Flu Game.”

Pippen’s rants have become a little tiresome of late, and Charles Barkley has had enough.

The basketball Hall of Famer and TNT analyst weighed in on the former Bulls star during a recent appearance on the Dan Patrick Show.

Pippen’s recent remarks, he explained, appear to be a ploy to promote his new book.

“I feel bad,” Barkley says of Pippen, “because it seems like he’s just trying to go big-game hunting because he’s selling a book.”

“I’ll never tell another person what to say; we’re all entitled to our own opinions.”

But it appears that he’ll be publishing a book… When you write a book, it should, in my opinion, be your personal thoughts on everything that concerns you.

It’s all about you expressing yourself to the rest of the world.

When you go after Phil Jackson, Michael Jordan, and he came after me a little bit, it just seems like you’re going big-game hunting because you know it’ll get some clicks.”

After only playing one season together with the Houston Rockets in 1999, Barkley and Pipped have had their own feud over the years.

Soon after arriving, the latter was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers, and their relationship only got shakier.

Barkley once said to Pippen that he owed him an apology for leaving the Rockets after only one season during their playing days.

“I wouldn’t give Charles Barkley an apology under duress,” Pippen responded, adding that “if anything, he owes me an apology for coming to play with his sorry fat butt.”

Barkley’s latest comments, accusing Pippen of clickbait, are unlikely to help the pair mend their rift.
