The Chargers’ offense has a telling remark from Keenan Allen.

The Los Angeles Chargers were 4-1 earlier this season and had a habit of winning shootouts.

They’re now 5-4 and struggling to move the ball consistently on offense.

The Chargers have only averaged 19.3 points in their last four games.

Keenan Allen, the team’s wide receiver, spoke about the team’s recent offensive woes on Thursday.

Allen believes that involving Mike Williams more in the passing game would benefit the Chargers’ offense.

After a promising start to the season, Williams has only 10 receptions for 137 yards in the last four games.

Allen told reporters, “I think we need to do a better job of getting him the ball.”

“Mike is clearly a director of photography.

He produces at a high level and scores a lot of points for us when he gets it.

We haven’t been scoring, clearly.

Mike’s failure to catch the ball is most likely to blame.

So it’s just a matter of finding new ways to get the ball to him.”

Williams had 31 catches for 471 yards and six touchdowns through the first five games of the season.

To put it mildly, he was a key component of the Chargers’ offense.

Given Allen’s public statement that Williams deserves more offensive targets, it’ll be interesting to see how the Chargers’ offense looks against the Steelers on Sunday.

The Chargers will take on the Steelers at 8:20 p.m. ET.

NBC at 8:00 p.m. ET
