The NFL Community Reacts to Ben Roethlisberger’s Retirement Announcement on Saturday

The Pittsburgh Steelers found out a week ago today that starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger would be out of the game against the Detroit Lions.

Roethlisberger told the team about his symptoms and later tested positive for COVID-19.

He was vaccinated, but he didn’t have enough time to produce two negative tests 24 hours apart to clear protocols, despite the fact that he was vaccinated.

He didn’t appear to be playing in this weekend’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers earlier this week.

Jay Glazer, an NFL insider, is skeptical that Big Ben will clear protocol on time.

“[Ben] has been vaccinated,” Glazer explained.

“So he needs two negative tests in a row in order to come back.”

That doesn’t usually happen in less than ten days.

As a result, I don’t expect him to return next week.”

Burt Lauten, the Steelers’ publicist, said this morning that Big Ben had passed the necessary protocol.

He’ll travel to Los Angeles independently of the rest of the team.

Lauten stated, “Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will be activated to the team’s 53-man roster after passing the NFL’s required COVID-19 protocols.”

“He’ll fly to Los Angeles separately from the team’s charter plane this afternoon, with the expectation of playing against the Chargers on Sunday night.”

Fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers couldn’t help but be ecstatic at the news.

Just in case, the Steelers reportedly prepared an offensive gameplan for Mason Rudolph.

Pittsburgh can only hope that this is not the case.

The Steelers will be severely short-handed on Sunday night, even if Big Ben returns.

TJ Watt, Joe Haden, and Kevin Dotson, the starting offensive guard, are all out.

Will Big Ben be able to lead a battered roster to victory over the Chargers in Los Angeles?
