The NFL Community Reacts To Derrick Henry’s News From Thursday

Whether you believe it or not, there’s a growing possibility that Derrick Henry will return to the Tennessee Titans before the regular season ends.

During the Titans’ 34-31 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8, Henry broke his foot.

To repair it, he had surgery.

The Titans’ bulldozing running back was expected to miss the rest of the season, according to reports.

However, ESPN’s Dianna Russini said on Thursday’s Get Up that there is growing “optimism” that Henry will be back in early January.

She wasn’t joking at all when she said that.

The Titans have a legitimate chance to win the Super Bowl.

They could be the favorite in the AFC with Henry possibly returning.

“We expect [Derrick Henry] to return in early January,” Russini said.

“The start of the playoffs is perfect timing for this team.”

Derrick Henry’s importance to the Tennessee Titans is well-known.

Because of Henry’s incredible skill set, Mike Vrabel and the Titans have always been able to overcome flaws.

To overcome Henry’s injury, Tennessee has had to get creative in the running game in recent weeks.

Following Henry’s injury, Vrabel told Titans Wire, “We’re going to have to be creative and figure out answers and a way to move the football and continue to run our offense.”

Since Henry’s foot injury, the Titans have gone 2-0, beating the Rams and the Saints.

On Sunday, they’ll face the Houston Texans in an attempt to extend their winning streak.

If he continues to make significant recovery progress, Henry could return in early January, just in time for the playoffs.
