For their game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, the Baltimore Ravens will be without starting quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Baltimore will start a different quarterback in the Windy City this afternoon due to a non-COVID-related illness that will keep the 2019 MVP out of the Week 11 matchup.

Tyler Huntley is here to help.

Huntley, a 23-year-old former undrafted free agent out of Utah, will start for the first time against the Bears on Sunday.

The Ravens’ backup quarterback doesn’t have much NFL experience, but he’ll be called upon to make an impact in a crucial road game.

Huntley has completed eight of his sixteen passes without a touchdown or interception in four appearances over the last two years.

He’s also run for a total of 33 yards on 13 occasions.

While Huntley’s regular-season numbers aren’t particularly impressive, he rose to prominence during the 2021 preseason.

He completed 60 of 83 passes for 551 yards and four touchdowns in a few appearances.

His most memorable performance came against the Washington Football Team in August, when he scored five total touchdowns.

Many Ravens fans and media members are optimistic about Huntley’s preseason performance, as well as his ability to run the same gameplan as Jackson.

Despite Huntley’s potential, the Ravens will wish that Jackson was healthy enough to play against the Bears.

On Sunday morning, the 2019 MVP arrived at Soldier Field, but was reportedly “not himself” and still recovering from an illness.

Fortunately for Jackson, the Ravens’ training staff determined that he is free of COVID-19 and flu.

His virus, however, was severe enough to keep him out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday, as well as the game this afternoon.

Baltimore (6-3) will need a big day from Huntley if it wants to win at Soldier Field on Sunday.

Once kickoff arrives at 1 p.m., only time will tell if he’s up to the task.
