Tyson Fury works out ahead of ‘£10m bout against the unbeaten Tom Schwarz’

Tyson Fury will reportedly pocket in excess of £10million for his heavyweight clash with the unheralded German Tom Schwarz in Las Vegas this weekend.

The undefeated Brit appeared characteristically relaxed and in confident mood on Tuesday evening as he hit the pads with trainer Ben Davison at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino before speaking to fans and signing autographs.

Hundreds of fans turned out to take a closer look at Fury and Schwarz as the pair both went through a light session in preparation for Saturday’s fight.

Fury, who has spoke both supportively and critically of Anthony Joshua following his shock defeat by Andy Ruiz Jnr, insisted that he won’t repeat his rival’s mistake.

‘When you get paid as much as I am, motivation is easy. Very easy,’ said Fury, who The Mirror claim will earn over £10m for fighting the unbeaten Schwarz.

‘As we saw last week, you can’t overlook anybody,’ he added. ‘This is heavyweight boxing and Tom Schwarz knows if he beats Tyson Fury, then he’s set for life.

‘He becomes a multi-millionaire, he gets to headline big shows and all his dreams come true.

‘But you’re talking to a king. I’ll figure him out within the first five seconds of the fight.’

Despite being a heavy underdog, Schwarz is adamant he has the capabilities to cause another huge upset in the heavyweight division.

He said: ‘[Max] Schmeling saw something in Joe Louis and shocked the world by knocking him out.

‘Eighty three years on it’s time for a German to do it again.’ Fury knows that anything but victory would be a disaster with plans for a rerun of December’s classic against WBC champion Deontay Wilder pencilled in for 2020.

Despite Saturday’s fight expected to have empty seats, promotional company Top Rank are confident they can build Fury’s profile up in the States and make him a star following his controversial draw with Wilder last year.

‘For the first Wilder fight, they just saw Fury as the opponent,’ said Top Rank chief and legendary promoter Bob Arum. ‘They didn’t see him as the attraction. Our goal is to make him the attraction.

‘If you ask me about left hooks and right crosses then other people know more than I do, but I’m talking about something completely different when it comes to promoting.

‘I feel he can make a connection with the American people.’
