GTA 5 for PS5 is delayed, but PS Plus users can rejoice

The PlayStation Showcase did not have good news for GTA 5 fans, because the PS5 version was unceremoniously postponed to March 2022. Unfortunately, there is no exact date yet. But the postponement by several months might not be a reason for sadness for many of you, but rather a reason for joy.

It’s still raining cash in GTA Online

If you are a regular player of GTA Online for PS4 and have a PS Plus membership, you should already know that you will receive a monthly cash gift on your in-game account. That’s because PS Plus users have been receiving 1 million GTA dollars every month since June 2020.

What does this have to do with the postponement of GTA 5? The monthly windfall in GTA Online is only valid until the PS5 version of GTA 5 is released. The reason is that GTA Online will be playable for free for all owners of the PS5 version. In order to make the re-release more palatable for PS4 players, Rockstar Games is distributing the cash gifts.

The fact that the PS5 version of GTA 5 will not be released until March 2022 adds another four months of waiting time. This means that you will have 4 million more GTA dollars to spend in the game.

How to get the money gift in GTA Online

At the beginning of the promotion, you automatically received the money when you logged into GTA Online. In the meantime, you’ll have to remember to pick up the 1 million GTA dollars in the PS Store yourself every month. But don’t worry, the in-game money is completely free to purchase from the PS Store.

Besides the free GTA dollars, PS Plus has a few other advantages. For example, the subscription service allows you to use the online function of all games and to get big discounts in the PS Store. You can find everything you need to know about PS Plus in our overview article.

Originally, GTA 5 was supposed to be released for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 11. The Enhanced Edition will run in 4K and 60 fps and has some graphical and gameplay improvements.
