A son has shot dead his mother before phoning his friend to confess his heinous crime, police have said.
The man, 43, opened fire on his 63-year-old parent in her second-floor apartment in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, on Monday night.
Medics were scrambled to the house on Broadway and Park Avenue and raced the critically injured woman to Woodhull Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police sources named Jason Argentina as the gunman to the New York Daily News, but this has not been officially confirmed.
After shooting his mother in the face, he confided his slaughter in a friend who told him to meet at Marcus Garvey boulevard.
The friend tipped off the cops, who arrested the suspect and recovered a weapon.
Charges against the son were pending last night.
